👩‍⚕️ I am proud to submit a motion to the Scottish Parliament recognising the groundbreaking research underway at @robertgordonuni to develop a blood test for faster endometriosis diagnosis.

💉 A huge credit to the RGU researchers driving this work forward. This innovation can transform lives by speeding up diagnosis and access to treatment.

📦 Over 𝟑𝟔,𝟎𝟎𝟎 Baby Boxes have been delivered to families across Grampian since the SNP Government launched the scheme in 2017.

🍼 Every newborn in Scotland receives a Baby Box packed with essential items, helping give every child the best start in life.

💛 Tackling child poverty is the SNP's top priority, alongside the Scottish Child Payment of £27.15/week per child, the Baby Box is making a real difference for families, especially during a cost-of-living crisis.

🟡 While Westminster cuts support, the SNP is taking action.

🔴 The SNP’s plan to abolish the two-child benefit cap is stuck in Westminster’s grip.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland needs independence, not permission.

🔥 Fires involving rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are on the rise across Scotland.

This replaces Westminster’s Attendance Allowance with a fairer system that automatically gives people of State Pension age living with disabilities or long-term health conditions the highest level of support.

👩‍🏭 Maths skills are key for careers in engineering, construction, and renewables. It is something I heard firsthand from apprentices at North East Scotland College during #ScottishApprenticeshipWeek.

“It’s okay to not be okay” is a well-known phrase in mental health campaigns – but it doesn’t always ring true for people, especially those with experience of more complex mental illnesses.

I'm joining @seemescotland in their call for more support and understanding of mental illness, to help address the shame which people continue to face.

Shame can cause people to hide a mental illness, even from those closest to them, sometimes stopping people from getting the help and support they need – and quite often it stems from the words and actions of others.

I'm supporting the #IfItsOkay campaign, and encouraging everyone to think about the language they use and how they react to people with experience of mental illness – because it’s on all of us to make a change.

🗣 Yesterday at First Minister's questions I raised the issue of Scotland's vast energy potential and the urgent need to lower bills.

🔋 With Europe's largest battery now operational here in the north-east, we're reducing wasted clean energy and saving consumers £170 million over 15 years. Yet, too many Scots - especially older folks - are still struggling with soaring energy costs.

📈 At the same time, in Westminster, the Labour Government's decision to cut the winter fuel payment has made things even harder for pensioners. Scotland generates so much energy and it's only right that people here benefit from it.

🌈 It's a pleasure as always to meet my constituent Fiona Jones who raised important issues concerning autism services and support across Aberdeenshire.

🚌 There has been over 200 MILLION free bus journeys for under 22s across Scotland since the scheme was introduced.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 The scheme continues to help eradicate child poverty, tackle climate change and grow the economy by providing free access to education, employment and leisure.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 The Scottish Government will continue to deliver for Scotland and continue to fund concessionary bus travel, providing access to free bus travel for almost 2.3 million people.

🟢 The Asda Foundation is offering grants to support grassroots organisations working with young people aged 13 to 21. With up to £500,000 available across the UK, this funding aims to empower communities and create opportunities for young people.

🇺🇦🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿What a pleasure to attend the Ukraine Forever event at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh with colleagues @emmaharpermsp @clareadamsonmsp and @kaukabstewartsnp on the third anniversary of the illegal Russian invasion. A fabulous evening of music, dance, poetry and reflections acknowledging Ukraine’s courage, sacrifice & resistance.

🤝 Great to meet with Dr Daria Shapovalova and Professor Tavis Potts from the University of Aberdeen to hear about a significant new research project that will put people at the centre of our just transition.

🏠 This five-year project brings together six universities, with Aberdeen as a key case study. A major focus is retrofitting homes in Torry, tackling fuel poverty and supporting a Just Transition, directly aligning with Scottish Government policy.

💛 It was great to hear how their research could make real difference right here in the constituency, improving the lives of many folk in Torry. Ensuring that local voices are heard throughout this transition is key to delivering fair and lasting change.

🏞 Since 2021, the Scottish Government has invested £35 million in renewing play parks across Scotland - £15 million this year alone (2024/25).

Which includes includes:
✅ £1.3 million for Aberdeen
✅ £2.1 million for Aberdeenshire

This funding ensures children have safe and fun spaces to play in their communities -something that should be a given. I’m delighted to see this investment benefiting families across Aberdeen South and North Kincardine.

📽 It was a pleasure to meet the Chief Executive of The Belmont Cinema, Matt Buchanan, to hear about the cinema's plans for the future.

⭐ It was great to hear about their vision for Belmont and how they are going to utilise their £507,000 of multi-year funding recently awarded to them from Creative Scotland.
