The growing challenge of policing people in distress

Later this week the Criminal Justice Committee will hear from Police Scotland, health experts and academics about the significant challenges faced by police officers responding to people in distress. MSPs will hear about what is being done to improve the response so that people can be directed to the right service, and officers released to deal with other policing priorities.
